San Francisco votes on banning circumcision

If the measure passes, circumcision would be prohibited among males under the age of 18. The practice would become a misdemeanor offense punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 or up to one year in jail. There would be no religious exemptions.

  1. There are some things that should be the business of the individual and their doctor. Banning circumcision for boys is one of them. There are times when it is medically necessary and socially desireable.

    Men used to get circumcised before marriage to be thoughtful to their wives. Not only sensually, but for sanitary reasons. Abortion is the other thing that is nobody’s business but the person involved.
    Everybody in the business of publishing has the privilege of their own opinion, that does not mean that everyone else has to fall into line and agree en masse.
