Draft Strategic Plan

Since April 2009, Town Council has met for several strategic planning sessions and has created a draft vision statement, mission statement, core principles and a series of goals and objectives. Council is now looking for your input into their draft strategic plan.

Attached below is a copy of Council’s draft strategic plan. Please take the time to review its contents and provide Council with your suggestions.

In order to move forward in approving and implementing the plan, Council asks that all written feedback be submitted back to the Town of Wolfville by no later than Monday, July 20, 2009. Written submissions can be emailed to jboyd@town.wolfville.ns.ca This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (subject line Strategic Plan) or dropped off at Town Hall.

In addition, a public meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the Wolfville Fire Hall. The meeting will include a presentation of the draft strategic plan followed by input from residents in attendance.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Chief Administrative Officer Roy Brideau at 542-4494 or by email at rbrideau@town.wolfville.ns.ca This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

July 20th ? Come on! It’s summer. People are on vacation. And why is it that concerns and questions go to the CAO. Have we any confidence they will get to Council?

A copy of the strategic plan is on the ToW website in PDF format.

Later: We are struggling through the verbiage. We like this part:

Provide a better communication link to the public – build the bridge so that we are responding to their issues. We need a better way to communicate and respond;

…Improved communication with the people – improved budgeting process –

If only they meant it.

..work creatively with the community to achieve our vision.”

Shouldn’t that be OUR vision not their vision?
