Hospice Presentation

Just want to alert folks that there is a Council Committee meeting on Monday night at which there will be a presentation on the Hospice. The Hospice has been planned for years, and it is hoped the effort put into this project will finally become reality as it is much needed in the community and will save money in the end as well.

The agenda for Monday’s meeting is copied below for your convenience. [Is anyone having difficulty finding the agendas on the Town website? It took us a while! You’d think it would be here under agendas but it wasn’t. Instead it is linked under Town Hall and in the calendar section in what we think is a convoluted way.  Is it just us?]At the end there are some upcoming meeting and event  dates you might like to note.

Following the agenda there are copies of printed material on the Hospice which you can look at if you follow this link [pdf alert!]

We hope that on the flag flying issue which is listed to be discussed, it is decided  that only the Canadian, provincial and municipal flags will be flown at Town Hall, otherwise it will be a can of worms for ever. Let’s not make the mistake other municipalities have made. Town Hall is not a billboard for special interests. [later: Also a firm policy could be made about when and for whom the flag should be lowered. It is surprising there isn’t already a set protocol for municipalities which makes sense and which all could follow uniformly.]

And they may finally decide at this meeting to put a 4 way stop at Gaspereau and Main, as this is also on the agenda. This busy intersection has been a bane of residents’ existence for a long time. It sure would be nice to finally have something tried to improve it for people. If a four way stop doesn’t work well, then try something else.
