More smoke in the tobacco wars

Mr. Gee continues to fight for his rights.

Mader’s Tobacco Store owner and operator Robert George Norman Gee, 64, appeared for a hearing in Kentville provincial court Wedneday, Oct. 29 on charges of, as a vendor, displaying tobacco products in a manner not prescribed under the Act and of being a vendor, storing tobacco products in a manner not prescribed under the Act.

He is pleading not guilty and is using a Charter of Rights and Freedoms argument. The case is getting dragged out some more.

At the Oct. 29 hearing, Judge Alan Tufts heard evidence and the court received exhibits.

The judge ordered the matter to continue Jan. 16 and, if necessary, April 1.[link to source]

Maybe Mr. Gee can get this guy to be his poster boy.
