Atlantica events

A message from the Atlantica party people.

For the summer months we are starting a new series of events:

1. Caffeine + Politics. A regular informal get together in the back
room of the Trident Coffee House, 1256 Hollis Street in downtown

Halifax on Saturdays at 11:30 am.
Come and have the best coffee in Atlantic Canada while meeting and
debating with us.

2. As riding associations come online we will be posting local meetings.

3. Our public meetings series will continue at a slower pace through
the summer months.

4. By request we can also have a Caffeine + Politics event near you,
just let us know.

5. We are currently targeting certain NS ridings for signatures, if
you would like us to work in your riding or if you would like to
volunteer for your riding (you can do as much or as little as you
like) drop us a note at The spring and summer
months are a great time to meet people!!

On May 20th, 2008 at 7 PM the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Public
Administration presented a free talk by Preston Manning on
“Re-engaging Canadians in Democracy”

Mr. Manning offered several points to help re-establish trust in the
political system and with politicians:

1. Electoral reform
2. Political institutional reform including free voting in legislatures
3. Better democratic infrastructure (education & ethics) for people
in the political sphere.
4. Encourage the public to hold their representatives to a high
democratic standard.
