Those who are regular readers here will have noticed that the links we
provide on the sidebars are always changing. We add links to
sites we find of interest or use - sometimes humour links like the
beaver examiner, or a new blog to read, a news aggregator we check- like Jack’s
newswatch- or groups we have “joined”- such as the Alliance of
Non-partisan bloggers or Million bloggers. We try to delete links that
we see lapse into disuse or which
are closed down (recently Neales News or Monte Solberg’s blog for e.g.)
We have tried to link to interesting (to us) Atlantic blogs, which are not always described as such by the creators, when we came across them. Which brings us to the point of this post which is to mention
a new one which
is an Atlantic blog about Atlantic bloggers called - guess what- Atlantic
Blogger!
Lots of google ads, which if they get the traffic, will pay for it. Timing is interesting since My Connect
has just got up and running too. It is very new - only mid to late Aug. dates are
listed in its archives. We found out about Atlantic
Blogger because it had a
trackback to us which we followed. It is nice to know we are mentioned
there somewhere.
We think this will be a very useful site to check into for a collation of
what
other bloggers in the region are saying so have happily added it
our blogroll. Not sure who is behind it. In that regard as a
(slightly)
anonymous blogger ourselves we note this post :
In order to be taken seriously, should a blogger post their real name?
Should a blog post be dismissed just because the original blogger does not have a real name associated with it?
We don’t think so.
Neither does SpinkAboutIt.
In our humble opinion, a blog post should be judged on the ideas
contained within the post and not the name associated with it. When you
think about it, ‘mainstream’ media writers are nothing more then a
blogger associated with a news room.
Just because I blog and I don’t have my name associated with my
posts does not mean my thoughts or opinions are extreme or any less
valid.
I’m not an extreme individual.
We have to also agree with Scott who comments on this post with
regard to anonymous commenters. It is nice when commenters- who may
want to remain unidentified - do register with a nickname so they have
a persona on line.
Have to mention that Atlantic Blogger is searching for authors/ bloggers to provide them with copy.
